Dan James

British vocalist and songwriter, Dan James, is a language teacher by day. Songwriting influences include Bob Dylan, Chuck Berry, Elvis Costello and many others.

David Green

Veteran of the London music scene, Dave cut his teeth playing top twenty-material in British working men’s clubs. Before handling bass with The Bastards, Dave was a member of several UK bands including The Monoconics and featured on two John Peel sessions on British radio.

Tony Greenwood

Drummer Tony Greenwood combines a thunderous and accurate playing style. Before joining The Bastards Tony played and gigged with numerous bands in the UK and Hong Kong.

Mark Harrison

Mark has played guitar since early school days and played in several bands in the UK including Quantrum before co-founding The Bastards in 1990. A promising career as a classical guitarist was cut short when his teacher ran off with the woman next door… Mark is heavily influenced by 1970s rock.

Jim Shorthose

Guitar-slinger Jim Shorthose has played in numerous bands over the years in the UK and Hong Kong. Jim’s main claim to fame is that he went to the same school as Queen’s Brian May. You can hear the influence in his playing.

Rob Porter

Canadian engineer and producer Rob Porter got his start in Mushroom Records in Vancouver. Rob moved to Q-Sound in Hong Kong as house engineer and founded Yellow Frog Media in 2002 together with wife Betty Liu. With an impressive recording resume, Rob engineered The Bastards’ first album ‘Welcome to the Royal’ and engineered and produced ‘Scheming in the Backroom’.
